Event

Please note: This event took place in March 2023

Join us at the 17:40 screening of Pearl on Mon 20 March which will feature Descriptive Subtitles and an introduction from Ti Singh, BFI FAN Campaigns Manager and director of Bristol Bad Film Club and Forbidden Worlds Film Festival

This will be followed at 19:30 by a post screening discussion in the Café & Bar with audience members and Ti. The evening will be hosted by Deaf artist, performer and filmmaker David Ellington and will feature BSL interpretation throughout.

Filmmaker Ti West returns with another chapter from the twisted world of X, in this astonishing follow-up to 2022's most acclaimed horror film. Trapped on her family’s isolated farm, Pearl (Goth) must tend to her ailing father under the bitter and overbearing watch of her devout mother. Lusting for a glamorous life like she’s seen in the movies, Pearl finds her ambitions, temptations and repressions all colliding in this stunning, technicolor-inspired origin story of X’s iconic villain.

Please join us in the Café & Bar for an informal discussion after the screening, which will include BSL interpretation. You’ll receive 10% off drinks with your cinema ticket – so grab a glass and let us know your thoughts about Pearl.
