In June, Watershed will celebrate its 40th year of bringing people together on Bristol’s harbourside. Set up in 1982 as the UK’s first media centre – we produce accessible and inclusive experiences that fire up the imagination in our venue, online and across the world.

We are using this year to ask open questions about our past, present and future, inviting our communities to help us explore our relevance and design what will come next. 

After a challenging couple of years, our Watershed 40 celebration centres rest, relaxation and gratitude as we turn towards new horizons. We’ll gather to share food and work from artists in our community with a feast devised by HOURIA and Fozia Ismail of Arawelo Eats. The evening will be designed with comfort in mind.

Togetherness requires community – so rather than handpicking from our audiences, supporters, friends, partners and collaborators – we are opening up the guest list. This is an invitation to be together.

Food and Drink: The Feast will be fully vegan. Complementary soft drinks will be created with our community  - a paid bar will be available. We will notify those who are coming by 18 May.

Access: The event will be BSL interpreted. There is wheelchair access throughout the venue and a quiet space available in Waterside 1.

This event is being produced and co-curated with Studio Susegad, a new home for creative production in Bristol and beyond launching in Summer 2022, focusing on rest, care and pleasure.
