Welcome to the new Watershed website! It’s been a long time coming. More than five years, to be exact. What was wrong with the old one, you may wonder.It was dated. It was becoming unwieldy. It had teeny tiny text. But most of all, it didn’t accurately reflect the vibrancy and passion of Watershed or the wide variety of activities and opportunities we offer that make us special.

Watershed Hosts Partnership Hub for SW Creative Industries

The University of the West of England (UWE) has been chosen to lead one of four prestigious Knowledge Exchange Hubs for the Creative Economy by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).UWE is teaming up with the Universities of Bristol, Exeter, Bath and Cardiff, as well as Watershed and a wide range of creative industry partners, to form the new Research and Enterprise in Arts and Creative Technologies Hub (REACT) for Bristol, the South West of England and South Wales.

Media pioneer and theorist Herbert Marshall McLuhan was born 100 years ago. To celebrate the extraordinary impact he had in media and communications Watershed is hosting McLuhan's Message, a season of events throughout October curated by artist Simon Poulter.Phrases such as the 'Global Village' and 'The Medium is the Message' have entered into the public realm and dramatically affected the way we think about electronic media, television and radio.
