Despite feeling tired due to the long trip, I felt very productive during this first week in Bristol. We’ve been bombarded with various high quality lectures, debates and workshops. The location of the Watershed on the shores of the harbor channel is nothing more than poetic. In addition, the infrastructure of the Pervasive Media Lab is impressive with creative companies and people orbiting a huge room interestingly decorated, colliding ideas and generating innovative projects.
About our project in particular, it was very exciting to realize that the concept of Playable City is not being imposed by anyone. This is an ongoing process and it is an honor to be part of this construction with a bit of our vision. While we developed our own concept, we’re shaping us as a group, understanding the people with whom we are working and feeling increasingly more comfortable with them.
I was very impressed by other members’ background. When watching their portfolios presentations, I discovered many affinities and I hope we can form many future partnerships.
Another thing I think has a great innovative power (despite driving most of us anxious and apprehensive) is that the conception and development process is being discussed and modified each iteration. I think in this way we’ll found our own path that is suitable for a productive practice.
Following my principles, that I share with many other members, I will continue making, testing, experimenting, implementing and learning from all the attempts.
A white board full of sketches and post-its for everybody! =D
Go go go!
