Trained at Laban London, Lisa is a performer, teacher, writer, researcher, and film-maker; her interests lie with the connected body and connecting bodies through somatic practice, dance technique and improvisation scores. She takes her teaching and research work into educational and community settings and as professional development training for dancers. She guest lectures at universities across the UK and teaches weekly professional class in Bristol.

Lisa was a founding member of Janis Claxton Dance in 2001 and since then has performed internationally with Chris Ho and Victor Ma, Angus Balbernie, Angela Praed, Fleur Darkin, and Interactive Scientific amongst others. In 2013 LMT received Dance & the Homemade commission from Chisenhale Dance Space. Lisa was dancer-choreographer for 'danceroom Spectroscopy' with presentations in 2013-14 at ZKM Germany; Barbican, London; Digital Mobilities Festival, University of Bedfordshire with Dance Digital; Brighton Digital Festival and a West Coast US tour in 2015 visiting Stanford University and Z-Space in California. 

In 2015 Lisa was awarded Arts Council England funding for ‘The Touch Diaries’, an ethnographic community dance project and which produced an award-winning short dance film and live gallery presentations at The Edge Arts Centre, Bath. LMT has completed an MPhil at the University of Bristol, with the support of a hybrid arts scholarship award from ISci, and has won a scholarship from the University to continue onto a PhD in 2017. LMT has recently worked with The Place, Chisenhale Dance Space, Watershed Media Centre, Pervasive Media Studio, Arnolfini, Bristol Old Vic, Picture This, Theatre Bristol, Dance South West, Dartington, ICIA, Bath Spa University, Peninsula Arts Centre, Plymouth Arts Centre, Barbican London, Plymouth University, Falmouth University and The British Council.
