Phil Gosset works as a consultant in the areas of consumer insight and technology research, particularly in relation to the field of mobile communications. Whilst working as a consultant for Microsoft Research in Cambridge, he also explored the possibility of pervasive, situated and perpetual games with the Pervasive Media Studio.

Before this he worked for 10 years as a senior research manager for Vodafone R&D, where he worked on user insight and future vision, and prior to this he was a software designer/project manager for a company in Bristol. He gained a PhD in theoretical quantum physics at the University of Bristol, and held a post-doctoral fellowship in quantum optics at the University of Queensland.
