Yiota is the Postdoctoral Research Assistant for the newly-established research centre, Making Books: Creativity, Print Culture and the Digital, at Bath Spa University, where she also lecturers in Performance Studies and Cultural Geography. She holds a PhD in Arts & Humanities awarded by University of Bristol. It looked at artistic aproaches to exhibing oral history collections, using performance and sound art. Love Letters is her touring performance project that combines aesthetics of performance, sound art and ubiquitous computing. It involves capturing and sharing memories through audience participation and storytelling. Her performance and live art photography has also been disseminated widely online. Her work has been toured across the EU and at renowned festivals such as Latitude and Tempting Failure. She has been commissioned by PaperNations for the Children's Bath Literature Festival and has also supported sound installation works for KCL's event Path to Utopia. Moreover, she is the Initiator and Artistic Director of Performance & Live Art Platform, where she constantly attempts to reach new audiences and create opportunities for young people working with Performance and Live Art in Cyprus.
