Queer Vision Sofa Club: Make Up Watch Party + Discussion

Streaming + Live stream

Please note: This event took place in March 2021

Join Queer Vision for their third Sofa Club event of 2021 - a chance to collectively watch LGBTQIA+ films and TV series from your home and to connect and discuss with each other.

For March’s Sofa Club, Queer Vision have selected Claire Oakley's debut Make Up, an atmospheric and boldly original vision of personal evolution set on a remote holiday park. In this eerie and hypnotic film, 18-year-old Ruth moves in with her boyfriend and makes an unsettling discovery that lures her into a spiral of obsession...

Queer Vision will be joined by Claire Oakley for a live discussion after the film. They will also be joined by Queer Vision's Malaika Kegode, a Bristol-based performance poet who will introduce her poetry short film Wide As The Sea, which ruminates on queerness, bisexuality and belonging.

Schedule:

Virtual doors open: 18:45

Introduction from Queer Vision and screening of Wide As The Sea: 19:00

Press play: 19:30*

Post-film discussion with Queer Vision and director Claire Oakley: 21:00

Ends: 22:00

*Make Up is available to stream via BBC iPlayer.

Queer Vision’s Sofa Club will run on the third Thursday of the month or in line with a specific new release date. Visit the website for more details.
