We present Don Lett's hilarious and colourful profile of the godfather of funk George Clinton, whose 50-year career has defined the genre. Clinton embraced Afrofuturist ideas, and funk was a cosmic energy tapped by musical instruments. From his 1950s days running a doo-wop group out of the back of his barber store, through the madness of the monster Parliament/Funkadelic machine of the 70s to his late 90s hip hop collaborations with Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg, George Clinton has inspired generations of imitators. Let's get on board the Mothership and travel to the funkiest musical cosmos.

Tickets to this film are FREE as part of Fun Palaces, a celebration of science, art, and (most importantly!) fun. We asked the good people of Bristol for their ideas on how to transform Watershed into a Science Fiction wonderland and it's a real treat - before the film why not try defeating Gorb the Cyborg and afterwards join us in the Café/Bar for a futuristic dance?!

Screening with short Afronauts (Frances Bodomo, 2014).

Please book online to reserve your tickets. Any tickets not collected from Box Office 20 minutes before the start time will be released.
