Bristol 2214 Flash Fiction Workshop

Afrofuturism

Event

Please note: This event took place in Oct 2014

Free workshops at 13:00-15:00 (for 14-18 year olds), and 15:00 - 17:00 (for 18+)

Can you tell a story in 400 words or less?

Guided by acclaimed writer Courttia Newland, this is your chance to hone your writing skills by creating super short sci-fi stories on the theme of Bristol 2214. Imagine how surreal, bizarre, or banal Bristol will be two hundred years from now. What will it look like, and how will we live, work and play? Free your minds to possibility - who knows, maybe it'll come true, and maybe we'll still be around to see it!

There are two workshops - one from 13:00-15:00 for 14-18 year olds, and one from 15:00 - 17:00 for 18- upwards. This is a free event as part of Fun Palaces, a stellar weekend full of free activities dedicated to the wonderful world of sci fi.

Book your free places for the 14-18 year old workshops here, and the 18+ year old workshops here. Any tickets not collected 20 minutes before the start time of the event will be released.

Part of Fun Palaces, a totally free celebration of science, art, and (most importantly!) fun. We asked the good people of Bristol for their ideas on how to transform Watershed into a Science Fiction wonderland and it's a real treat - after the workshops why not join us for an evening on board The Mothershed for late night music, activities, and more.
