Lunchtime Talks

Talk

Please note: This event took place in June 2015

Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.

Data can give us windows into hidden worlds that we don’t see in our day-to-day lives. Nuggets of information are buried in the vast swaths of data around the world. How do we get at this data? How can we manifest the data so it becomes meaningful to people?

Kev Kirkland, Studio Resident and founder of Data Unity will talk about inspirational projects that bring data to life, looking at examples from data visualisation, social data, art and interactive documentaries. Kev will also talk about the work Data Unity is doing to bring data back to the real world through Open Data Spaces

The Pervasive Media Studio is located within the Watershed building. Let us know if you'd like a tour and we'll be happy to show you around. Send an email to admin@pmstudio.co.uk
