Lunchtime Talks

Talk

Please note: This event took place in Nov 2015

Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.

To coincide with the first screening of Tangerine at Watershed, a film about transgender sex workers captured entirely on an iPhone 5s, filmmaker and former RIFE journalist Jack Edwards will talk us through the art of mobile cinematography.

Jack will introduce some of the practicalities and artistry of smartphone filmmaking and how easily achievable it can be. Through basic tips and tricks with a sprinkle of apps, we will all be ready to get started on our very first smartphone film. Jack has been working in film and TV since graduating from Falmouth University, having worked on short films, broadcast and highlights for sports all around the world. He really knows his stuff.

Attendees at this lunchtime talk will receive a special discount voucher to see the first screening of Tangerine at Watershed for £2.50, shortly after the talk at 14:20.

The Pervasive Media Studio is located within the Watershed building. Let us know if you'd like a tour and we'll be happy to show you around. Send an email to admin@pmstudio.co.uk
