Lunchtime Talks

Talk

Please note: This event took place in Jan 2016

Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.

In this weeks talk we hear from Studio resident Tom Abba who is kicking off a two year research project to design and develop a new literary genre, ambient literature, described as "a literary experience responsive to a reader's situation, delivered or mediated by digital technology". Join Tom for a conversation about what ambient literature is, is not and might be. Find out more about the planned projects, activities and opportunities to get involved with this new kind of storytelling.

Ambient Literature is a collaboration between the Universities of the West of England, Bath Spa and Birmingham, and is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

The Pervasive Media Studio is located within the Watershed building. Let us know if you'd like a tour and we'll be happy to show you around. Send an email to admin@pmstudio.co.uk
