Introducing our 2016 New Talent Residents

Lunchtime Talks

Talk

Please note: This event took place in July 2016

Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.

In this Lunchtime Talk we are delighted to welcome our 2016 New Talent Residents to the Studio community: Jono Sandilands, Tenaya Steed and One Five West (Sophie Bullock and Anna Horton Cremin). This week, we are taking the opportunity for them to introduce themselves, their work and their plans for the residency.

Fresh from MA Printmaking at UWE, Jono Sandilands is a graphic artist making artwork layered with digital technology. Playable Prints is a crossover of traditional printmaking and embedded digital media, interactivity and gaming.

Tenaya Steed works as a multidisciplinary artist to tell true stories about everyday people. Her project ‘National treasure hunt’ uses creative technologies to search for stories of cultural heritage in England’s fading steel towns, starting with Scunthorpe: the most unsearchable town on the internet.

Sophie Bullock and Anna Horton Cremin make up artist duo One Five West. They will be taking their interactive artworks into the public realm, turning the passer-by into performer though a mixture of physical and digital play.

The Pervasive Media Studio is located within the Watershed building. Let us know if you'd like a tour and we'll be happy to show you around. Send an email to admin@pmstudio.co.uk
