Following a nuclear explosion that transforms the voice of all the inhabitants of an island, a Finnish journalist goes there in order to find a hermit with mysterious powers. An intriguing look at the concept of utopia, conformity and the disenfranchised in our communities.

Aisha Sanyang-Meek, 2016, UK, 3min

Bristol based-poet, journalist and filmmaker Aisha Sanyang-Meek explores the social, political and personal aspects surrounding black hair through the medium of spoken word.

‘The Purple House’ is a comedy that takes place during the Tunisian Revolution and follows the lovable Hsan as he manoeuvres the difficulties of living in poverty. Winner of the 2015 Baobab Award at Film Africa.
