Revinyl Sessions
Lunchtime Talks
Please note: This event took place in March 2017
Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.
How A New DJ Mixer Can Bridge Gaps In Community Engagement With Music
Revinyl sessions use vinyl and DJ ing to create a comfortable and inclusive environment for people to connect and unlock new forms of expression through music. Focused on finding new ways to include everyone, Jack Barnett and Bob Leadbeater are inspired to break down the limitations of industry standard equipment.
In this week's Lunchtime Talk Jack and Bob will be talking about their idea to create a new DJ mixing console that uses interactive technologies to create systems of guidance and feedback, helping to educate the user through the entire process. They want to create a more accessible platform for people of all abilities and backgrounds to learn how to DJ.
The Pervasive Media Studio is located within the Watershed building. Let us know if you'd like a tour and we'll be happy to show you around. Send an email to studio@watershed.co.uk
