Deaf Conversations About Cinema: You Were Never Really Here

From 19:30 join us for Deaf Conversations About Cinema, an informal discussion featuring simultaneous BSL (British Sign Language) interpretation about the themes of You Were Never Really Here in the Café/Bar (Deaf and hearing audience members are both most welcome). Lynne Ramsay (We Need To Talk About Kevin, Ratcatcher) makes a long-awaited return with this brilliantly executed minimalist noir starring Joaquin Phoenix as a gun-for-hire who specialises in saving victims from child sex rings.
The 18:00 screening on Mon 26 March will include Descriptive Subtitles and feature an introduction by film producer Kate Swan and a post-show discussion with Kate and other audience members - which will also feature simultaneous BSL (British Sign Language) interpretation. From 19:30 please join us for Deaf Conversations About Cinema, an informal discussion about the themes of the film in the Pervasive Media Studio (Deaf and hearing audience members are both most welcome). Speaker Biography:
Kate Swan is film producer, credits include Kiss The Water, directed by Eric Steel about legendary fishing fly tyer Megan Boyd, Play Me Something written by John Berger, Blue Black Permanent by Orcadian director Margaret Tait as well as numerous short films. She has also produced and developed dramas for BBC and is currently working on a feature film set in Falmouth.
