Bristol Refugee Festival and graphic animation students at Bath Spa University present a showcase of short animated films about the struggles and experiences of refugees in Britain. Inspired by the real-life stories of refugees, each of the short animations looks at a different facet of the current crisis.

Losing connections with home and family can be isolating and confusing. Through animation, the students explore concerns around personal safety and the impact that such a dangerous journey can have on mental health. Examining the way the refugee crisis has been depicted in the media, each film also hope to raise awareness of the refugee perspective and experience.

In this programme twenty-one very short films will be screened with an introduction and followed by a Q&A with some of the students and refugees who worked on the films.

Bristol Refugee Festival is a month-long programme of arts, cultural and educational events that brings together communities and refugees across Bristol to celebrate the contribution refugees make to the city.
