Lunchtime Talks

Talk

Please note: This event took place in July 2019

This week we will be joined by Rife Magazine, Watershed's online magazine for young people and most importantly by young people. We will hear from two of Rife's alumni who are now Studio residents.

Rife offer paid internships and publish work by young writers, photographers, illustrators, and filmmakers from all sorts of backgrounds, helping them get into creative careers through giving them a platform, skills and networks.

Two of Rife’s alumni Jon Aitken and Tim Lo are now active Pervasive Media Studio residents working in the intersection between tech and filmmaking and dance respectively.

In this talk they share their personal stories about their creative and professional journeys. Reflecting on how development programmes delivered by arts organisations for young people can support creative talent. What worked well? How can we do more of this work? What do we need to do better?
