Contentertainment

Dual screen technology is - simply put - the use of multiple display devices simultaneously, such as monitors, televisions, and projectors. This technology is increasingly being put to use in the entertainment industry, with many people extending their engagement with television programs on their computers, or phones, or via interactive services. The introduction of these kind of technologies into the home means that the way we interact with television is changing. This poses a challenge to television makers, who are looking for new ways to extend audience enjoyment and the viewing experience.

In this talk, a panel of industry experts discuss Dual-screen experiences, and how people are creating new layers of interactivity and engagement using multiple devices simultaneously. The panel shared their secrets, previewed their upcoming work and discussed how they incorporate multiple devices into their creative projects.

Contentertainment is the digital strand of the Encounters Bristol International Short Film Festival which examines the latest ways in which digital technology is being used in creative contexts. The strand focuses on entertaining content, and looks at how digital technology is changing the way we produce and consume entertainment.
