Each year the curators of Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival pick ten filmmakers they believe are tipped for the top - five from the animation strand, and five from the live action (brief encounters) strand. Future Encounters showcases the work of these filmmakers, who demonstrate a distinctive cinematic and artistic vision, and who are talent to look out for in the years ahead.

Future Encounters is a showcase of 10 filmmakers whose work demonstrates a distinctive cinematic and/or artistic vision. We believe they are talent to look out for in the years ahead. - See more at: http://www.encounters-festival.org.uk/future-encounters-2013.html#sthas…

In this Future Encounters panel discussion, Peter Carlton, Producer at Warp Films, speaks to five of the filmmakers and presents clips of their work. The filmmakers taking part in this disccussion are Jesse Armstrong (No Kaddish in Camarthen), Audrey Lam (Faraways), Felix Massie (In The Air Is Christopher Gray), Pedro Collantes (Eskiper) and Adam Wells (Risehigh).

The panel answer questions about their career progression, idea development, settings for their films, and stylistic decisions, for example Collantes' use of a single take. Carlton explores why these new stars have been highlighted by the Festival. Remember these names!

This event took place as part of Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival 2013.
