I had many moments throughout the first day that really set off fireworks in my mind.

I am anticipating that this expirience will have a kind of "before and after" effect on my practice, my interest in participation, in audiences and my desire for play.

This opporutnity is cristalising a whole lot of wishing and thinking about the extent to which we can push ourselves creatively and make work that can genuenly blast apart the old shackles of theatre. Often theatre, because if is so loaded with tradition, and has been highjacked by the bougoisie, it can feel deeply unsatisfying as a tool for political and social engament.

to fuse it with the most cutting egde offerings that are at our finger tips in terms of technology and all the intricacies that a city can offer feels immensely liberating and thrilling. the audience is potentially broader, the concepts can potentially resonate more deeply and, best of all, people get to take over the street! But is it theatre? I would say " no". And why would it want to be?? Is it performance? yes.  Is performance more democratic than theatre? it could be...

but sometimes, the democratic quality of this kind of work can get lost, up its own techno-clever, conceptually complex ass...the challenge is to avoid this, and not turn it back in to a wank, which is so often found, in theatre.
