Whatever Happened to Baby Peggy?

Slapstick 2015

Event

Please note: This event took place in Jan 2015

Baby Peggy was one of the most bankable stars of the silent film era, making 150 films in less than five years - all the more astonishing due to the fact she was only 19 months old when she made her screen debut. Now an author and activist, Diana Serra Cary (AKA Baby Peggy) is featured The Elephant in the Room, an enthralling documentary recalling her infancy spent as a million-dollar asset of the Studio System. We will also screen Baby Peggy classic short Such Is Life (1924).

Diana was a Slapstick Festival guest back in 2006 and she has been a festival patron ever since - you will be able to hear a special message she has recorded for this event.

With special guest director of The Elephant in the Room, Vera Iwerebor and live accompaniment by Elizabeth-Jane Baldry on solo harp.

Ticket prices: £6.50 full / £5.00 concessions
