An inner city drama set in Bristol. Janeece and Chantelle are young students about to make choices that will drastically affect their future. Janeece is eager to meet her mother’s expectations and become a success, but will Chantelle convince her otherwise?

Bristol-set Grade, a short drama that started life during a filmmaking workshop with Michael Jenkins at the Malcolm X Centre, tells the story of Janeece, a 17 year old, living with her church-going mum in St Paul’s, trying to finish her education. It charts the tale of a hard working, stressed, well-intentioned young woman who succumbs to peer pressure and becomes involved in teenage rites of passage, with sinister overtones. When her mum realises the error of her daughter’s ways, she steps in and puts Janeece in a very awkward position. What path will her life take – lead or be led?

Followed by a Q&A with Bristol based director Mike Jenkins and members of the cast and crew.
