Afrika Eye 2015

Talk

Please note: This event took place in Nov 2015

In this free event festival founder Simon Bright is joined by festival patrons Rebecca Gibbs, Penninah Achieng and Derrick Price to look back at the Festival’s history and explore where Afrika Eye is now. Join in a discussion on the journey of Afrika Eye Film Festival - now in its 10th edition - with some of those involved in its past and present. This is an opportunity to explore what it’s taken to get here, why there’s a need for this festival in Bristol and what could be done to sustain this cultural event in the future.

The top bid for the ‘Afrika Eye Quilt’ created from dozens of donations of fabulous African cloth and sewn in community workshops (led by in Bristol artist Gaie Delap) will also be announced at this event. All money raised is being given to the British Red Cross Refugee Support Centre in Bristol.
