2015 is coming to an end and Rife Magazine, our online platform written for young people by young people, is celebrating. They’ve worked with 55 young people this year to make films about the issues that matter to them, and you're invited to a watch these films with us at a special celebration showcase, where you can also meet the filmmakers behind the camera.

The films, made with Bristol-based youth organisations and young people, explore subjects as varied as perceptions of the police, the Bristol Zine scene, death, mental health, Southmead, masculinity and loads more.

They have gained a huge amount of attention online and this will be the first time they can be seen on the big screen. Rife is excited to share them with you, because they are evidence of the socially conscious and articulate young people that live in our city.

Rife gives young people in Bristol a platform to talk about things that interest them, through film, music, art, culture, comedy, social issues or politics. Rife is everywhere covering everything Bristol has to offer its young people through social media channels. We have also chosen a few other films that have caught our attention in the last year and have been produced in collaboration with young people.

The event will last an hour and this includes a short Q&A with some of the young filmmakers at the end.

Everyone is welcome but the Showcase is recommended for ages 13+. If you are between 13-18 years old and are making your own way to the event, please remember to make suitable arrangements to get to and from Watershed as we cannot be held responsible for your travel. There will be DBS checked members of Watershed staff present throughout.

If you have any questions please email vanessa.bs@watershed.co.uk.

We’re getting a new kitchen in December

Throughout December the builders will be in to fit our new kitchen. We will still have a Soups and Sharing Platters menu and the bar will be open as usual but as the kitchen will be closed Cinebites is going to take a month’s break. Find out more here, including details of the schedule of work. Thank you for your patience in advance.
