Take a trip through an alternate America this Autumn with New York indie director Jim Jarmusch. A champion of independent filmmaking, he's never made a movie in a studio, preferring to create his own super-cool counter-culture in films that stick it to the man with both satire and subtlety. With his 1986 film Down By Law (about three escapee prisoners) screening from Tue 7 - Thu 9 Oct, it's time to invite you to venture off the tracks. We've got three films that offering an excursion into the margins of American life and a very different take on that time-honoured and prolific American dream.

Jump on board for Jarmusch's acclaimed 1984 film, Stranger than Paradise (Sun 5 Oct at 12:00) that takes you on the road from New York, through Cleveland, and on to the sunny beaches of Florida; hop on a train and head to Memphis, Tennessee for the bracing, original comedy Mystery Train (Sun 12 Oct at 12:00); then saddle up for Jarmusch's take on The Wild West in Dead Man (Sun 26 Oct 13:00) a unique, haunting film starring Johnny Depp.

So join us on a journey through Jarmusch's alternative America and enjoy a real breath of fresh air.
