Understanding our impacts

“We are Creative Producers and we are connected and I don’t feel lonely anymore.”
– Anel Moldakhmetova (Almaty)

Creative Producers International was always intended as a beginning – as a catalyst for connection, collaboration and change that would outlive our role as programme leaders and facilitators. As Producers ourselves we saw an opportunity to configure resources, establish shared values and initiate relationships in order to create the conditions in which new work might be made that points towards a better and different present and future. In making this start, Creative Producers International has given rise to a number of impacts on our cohort, on their capacity to deliver change, as well as a number of impacts on us as convenors of the programme. These impacts can be understood as economic – new commissions, or new paid work – or cultural – new artistic or creative interventions imagined by, with and for global audiences – or social, environmental or political.

We don’t recognise the generation of these impacts as a linear process, where one thing always leads directly to another. Instead, we believe that meaningful change happens in lots of different ways, emerging from the unexpected, unanticipated connections made as a consequence of the network we’ve created together.
