Q & A with No Greater Love director Michael Whyte
After ten years of correspondence, Michael Whyte was given unprecedented access to the closed monastery of Carmelite nuns situated in London’s Notting Hill Gate. This documentary offers a rare insight into a cloistered way of life that remains defiantly at odds with the glitzy priorities and frenetic pace of the outside world. Questioning, elegant and surprising, this is a quietly absorbing work.
In this post-screening discussion director/writer/camera man Michael Whyte gives a background to the film and the profound affects it had on him.
The discussion was hosted by independent producer and Watershed board member Paul Appleby.
