The Venice Film Festival was founded in 1932 and is the oldest film festival in the world. The festival takes place every year in late August/ early September on the Island of Lido, Venice. The festival is world-renowned and is part of the La Biennale di Venezia, the prestigious biennial festival and exhibition for contemporary art.

In this video Watershed's Head of Programme, Mark Cosgrove, discusses his reasons for attending the festival, where he will form part of the Europa Cinemas jury.
