Directions By Road
From London and the East via M4, Junction 19
- Take M32 to Bristol (junction 3) and follow one way City Centre route down Bond Street. Turn left at the roundabout onto the Haymarket, passing Broadmead shopping centre on your left.
- Pass the police station on your left and head straight ahead to the City Centre.
- At City Centre, follow A4 route towards the SS Great Britain and Watershed Centre. Follow A4 into Anchor Road (below Marriott Royal Hotel).
- Watershed to the left. Main entrance on the waterside. Parking is situated underground off Canon's Way (first left turn past Bristol Bathroom Centre). Watershed is situated on the waterfront at the end of Canon's Road to the right (access on foot only).
From the North, South, West and Wales via M5, Junction 18
- Follow the A4 route to the City Centre through the Portway, under the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
- On approach to the centre follow brown signs for Arnolfini.
- On Anchor Road, pass the S.S. Great Britain on your right.
- Take right turning at roundabout, heading towards the City Centre.
- Following signs for Watershed Centre take right turning into Canon's Way. Car Park is situated underground directly ahead. Watershed is situated on the waterfront at the end of Canon's Road to the right (access on foot only).
From Bath and South Coast via A4 & A37
- Follow signs for City Centre past Temple Meads Railway Station.
- At roundabout keep in left hand lane and head for Arnolfini passing St. Mary Redcliffe on the left.
- Head straight over roundabout and drive over Redcliffe Bridge.
- Turn left at roundabout and continue up to traffic lights.
- Turn right at traffic lights onto Prince Street passing Jury's Hotel on your left.
- Follow one way route towards the City Centre and A4 (via Baldwin Street) towards SS Great Britain and Watershed Centre. Follow A4 into Anchor Road (below Marriott Royal Hotel). Watershed to left.
- Parking is situated underground off Canon's Way (first left turn past Bristol Bathroom Centre). Watershed is situated on the waterfront at the end of Canon's Road to the right (access only on foot).
Directions By Rail
There are two mainline railway stations in Bristol; Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway. You are recommended to travel to Bristol Temple Meads.
Bristol Temple Meads station
Temple Meads station is about 1 mile from Watershed. Taxis are available outside the station. Alternatively bus number 180 runs every 10 to 15 minutes and the 8/9 circular bus service (renumbered to 508/509 at certain times of day) runs every 15 - 20 minutes. Both services depart from outside Temple Meads station. Ask the driver to stop at 'The Centre'.
It is a short (20 mins) and pleasant walk from Temple Meads station to Watershed.
- Head out of the train station and turn right at the end of the road onto Templegate.
- Cross the road and follow the path around the corner towards Redcliffe Way.
- Follow Redcliffe Way past the Hilton Hotel and St Mary Redcliffe church.
- At the roundabout head straight across towards Queen Square.
- Cross Queen Square heading towards the City Centre.
- Walking out of Queen Square you will see the roundabout ahead of you and the Post office to your left.
- Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing and head left up Prince Street past Jurys Bristol Hotel.
- Walk past Jurys and turn right into Narrow Quay.
- Walk towards the waterfront.
- Cross the water using Pero's foot bridge (horned bridge).
- Watershed is situated on the water side towards the City Centre between The River and the Chicago Rock Café.
Bristol Parkway station
Parkway station is about 6 miles from Watershed. You are advised to take a taxi.
Directions By Air
From London Heathrow
There is a direct National Express Coach Service between Heathrow and Bristol. Alternatively you can take the Heathrow Airport Express to London Paddington and a Great Western train from Paddington to Bristol. There is also a Railair link coach service which runs between Heathrow and Reading. Most Paddington to Bristol trains stop at Reading.
From Bristol Airport
The airport is about 8 miles to the south of Bristol centre. There is a frequent bus service from the airport to Temple Meads station, or take a taxi. For further information, contact the airport on 0871 334 4444.

Getting to Watershed by Ferry
Bristol Ferry Boat Company runs reliable timetabled ferries to and from Watershed (City Centre landing stage on Hotwells and Temple Meads ferry). The service operates 7 days a week all year round, and boats are heated and covered in winter.
You can catch the ferry:
- Just a few minutes walk away from Temple Meads Train station and also en-route to Watershed, at Castle Park (near Broadmead), Bristol Bridge and Welsh Back (near St. Nicholas Markets and King Street).
- Running every hour between April to October, a limited service runs weekdays between November to March, but there is always a full service on weekends and school holidays,from Hotwells, picking up at Mardyke and Pump House landing stages (off of Hotwells Road) and at Cottage and ss Great Britain landing stages (off of Cumberland Road).
- Running every 40 minutes.
