UWE's Digital Cultures Research Centre warmly invites you to an exhibition of the pick of their MA Media Practice and Culture final projects at the Studio this Friday.

The event will start at 15:00, with introductions and time to explore the pieces, followed by refreshments and networking from 17:00.

Descriptions of the projects follow:

The Passion of Malé by Maria Alejandre Lujan Escalente (Malé)
Welcome to a temple, altar and multimedia installation that uses the paraphernalia of praying as a metaphor, as an excuse to design interfaces that connect between the tactile and the virtual, to transgress borders between personal and public realms, to bypass limits between sacred and blasphemous: that sublime madness of laughing at ourselves.

BAM Bristol Art Map by Jess Robins
You live in an urban sketchbook, cross stitches on your way to work, party in a painting. You live in BAM, the Bristol Art Map. A city-wide, interactive collaboration to artistically re-map Bristol. You are invited to see the Easton prototype and get involved. Together we can show the world the diversity and creativity of this city.

Channel Weather Symmetry by Geraint Ffrancon
Towering cliffs, golden beaches, bracing winds and big skies. Don your headphones and move slowly through the glorious twin landscapes of Rhossili (South Wales) and Brean Down (Somerset), experiencing music and sound influenced by the weather, people, history and myths of these National Trust-managed peninsulas either side of the Bristol Channel.

Seven Hills by Taha Elmezughi
The Seven Hills documentary will portray the story of Mr Majothi – an expelled Asian Ugandan in 1972 – and the trials and tribulations of the long climb to start his life anew in Bristol.
