First Friday

First Friday is a monthly social and showcasing event open to anyone. It takes place in the Pervasive Media Studio every First Friday of each month (except for January and August), offering a chance to connect with others and experience a selection of work from our Studio community.
This month we'll see work from the following Studio Residents and Odiri Ighamre from Diverse Artists Network as part of DIASPORA!:
- Richard Sewell, Co-founder of Airgiants and roboticist and Martin O'Leary, Head of Studio and creative technologist will be sharing the latest iteration of Whiteboard Techno, an interactive magnetic music-making piece of office furniture.
- Odiri Ighamre an oral storyteller, writer and creative facilitator will be present with her new book 'She's Home' and be sharing visuals from her growing exhibition: ‘Internal Conversations'
- Vincent Baidoo, technologist and games designer invites you to play the beta version of his first commercial game. He will be there to chat about his work, including game design and holographic displays.
About Pervasive Media Studio
Pervasive Media Studio hosts an international community of over 200 artists, companies, technologists, and academics exploring experience design and creative technology. We are a space for risk taking and early ideas; for the kind of projects and questions that inhabit the meeting points of art, technology, and society.
Our projects span play, robotics, location-based media, food, connected objects, interactive documentary, new forms of performance and more.
We have an open plan studio with a culture if generosity, curiosity, and interruptibility. We believe that by clustering people together from a broad range of backgrounds, with differing skills, experience, and opinions, all of our ideas become better.
