Deaf Conversations About Cinema: Everybody Wants Some!!

Event

Please note: This event took place in May 2016

In this spiritual sequel to his much loved slacker hit Dazed and Confused, US indie master Richard Linklater (Boyhood) cuts loose with an achingly perceptive and riotously funny look back at 1980s college dorm life, as a group of rowdy young freshmen take their first (not so tentative) steps into the freedoms and responsibilities of unsupervised adulthood. A fun and honest film about love, friendship, and those dreamy summer nights before the bells rings for class, Everybody Wants Some!! is refreshing, easy and cool… this is a party you want to be invited to.

The Mon 16 May 18:10 screening will include Descriptive Subtitles (a service for our Deaf and hard of hearing customers that displays additional auditory information on the screen). This screening will also feature an introduction from Tara Judah, a critic, programmer and broadcaster, and Co-director at 20th Century Flicks video shop. She's appeared on Monocle24, BBC World Service, Made in Bristol TV and writes for Senses of Cinema and Desist Film. After the screening you can join Tara for a post-show discussion with audience members. This will also feature simultaneous BSL (British Sign Language) interpretation.

After the film, from 20:15, join us for Deaf Conversations About Cinema, an informal discussion about the themes of the film in the Café/Bar (Deaf and hearing audience members are both most welcome). You’ll receive 10% off drinks with your cinema ticket – so grab a glass and let us know your thoughts about Everybody Wants Some!!

If you can't make it to the screening don't worry, you're more than welcome to join us for the discussion!
