A geologist tries to prevent a catastrophe when a mountain overlooking a popular Norwegian tourist destination begins to collapse into the ocean in this pulse-pounding Scandi action-thriller.

Geiranger, a little Norwegian town, is one of the most spectacular tourist destinations on the planet. Although if you were planning a quiet break in the fjords you may have second thoughts after seeing this nerve-shredding portrayal of a potential catastrophe that science suggests may be just waiting to happen. With the mountain Åkerneset overlooking the village - and constantly threatening to collapse into the fjord - geologist Kristian (Kristoffer Joner) is moving on to a prestigious new job with an oil company after putting in several years at Geiranger's early warning centre. But his timing could not be worse. The substrata are shifting… and Kristian can sense it. What’s more, when his suspicions of an impending landfall prove correct, every soul in Geiranger has just ten minutes to get to high ground before a devastating tsunami hits, consuming everything in its path. Bad news for them, and for you it's ten of the most nerve-rattling minutes that you'll experience in any movie this year.

Based on the real-life 1934 tsunami that hit Norway’s Tafiord region, Scandinavia’s first disaster movie has broken box office records at home and more than gives Hollywood a run for its money. Eerily realistic effects and a sense of scale that’s utterly immense, this is one action-thriller with which you’re guaranteed to get swept away by.
