For many Deaf people their deafness is not a disability yet this is how they are often represented on screen and their struggles with hearing loss form the conflict within the narrative. Programmed in partnership with David Ellington from Watershed’s Deaf Conversations about Cinema strand, this programme celebrates deafness and the Deaf community through positive on screen representation.

This screening will be Introduced by David Ellington a Deaf British Sign Language (BSL) user, filmmaker and artist from Bristol and Rich Warren, Encounters Festival Director.

This screening and discussion will have BSL interpretation.
