A simple good deed leads to an unimaginable nightmare for Layal, a young, newly married schoolteacher when, in the middle of the night she is arrested in the West Bank. Her crime? Giving a ride to a wounded boy who, unbeknownst to her, went on to attack a military checkpoint.
Because she refuses to lie and say he threatened her, she is sentenced to eight years in prison, where she discovers she is pregnant. Choosing to raise her son behind bars, the baby becomes a beacon of hope in a dismal situation.
A gripping tale of injustice and betrayal, empowerment and the human spirit, 3000 Nights is a poetic and raw allegory of freedom under occupation.
