Local News Matters

Event

Please note: This event took place in March 2017

How are local news organisations keeping Bristol in the know in an age of fake news, falling revenues and the digital revolution?

As part of their Local News Matters initiative - which aims to reclaim a vital, vigorous press that is at the heart of the community it serves and is owned and operated in the public interest - the National Union of Journalists are holding a week of action that will champion local news as an essential component of society, democracy and citizenship.

At this event you will have the opportunity to quiz representatives from organisations such as BBC Bristol, Bristol Post, Voice Network, ITV Westcountry, Bristol 24/7, The Bristol Cable as well as speakers including Laura Davison, NUJ national publishing organiser, local MPs and other VIPs.

This event is organised by Bristol Branch NUJ as part of Local News Matters Week.
