LGBT: In This Our Lives

In October 1987, London hosted the first and only national gathering of black gay men in the UK, the National Black Gay Men's conference. Screening as part of a nationwide month long celebration of the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people In This Our Lives documents a reunion of original participants as they discuss the significance of this landmark conference and the progress of black gay politics in the intervening twenty years. Innovative editing gives the film an intimate, conversational feel as the men, the first 'out' black generation of men in the UK, openly reveal the struggles and triumphs of their lives.

The screening will be introduced by director Topher Campbell who will also lead a discussion after the film.
