Projects 2010 > Sonic Maze > Journal
Mind the Gap and Mazes made of sound.
Is the focus on an ancitent myth or a the current sonic assault on young people with mosquito tech. Is it the defeating of the sirens or the subversion of mosquito tech by young people to create secret ringtones.
Will the myth be evident? Will it be the skeleton with a contemporary skin? Does building it around an ancient story alienate some young people? Does it attract others?
I am personally torn but not as excited about the myth at certain moments and think we should plug into more contemporary themes and issues? Then I challenge myself and think it could be good and I do love mythology.
I am very curious about how the Mind the Gap company will respond and also how do we get Contacts young people into the development process.
I am clear that I am extremely excited to be working Mind the Gap and with Jez!
I am excited to see the maze become more gamelike with a structure that feels engaging, interactive, full of risk, reward, exploration, and the kind of first person experience that gaming offers.
