Half Term Family Workshop - Window Wanderland

Workshop

Wed 18 Feb 11:00

Pervasive Media Studio

This is a free event, but you still need to book tickets.

This February, we're excited to welcome young people aged 9+ and their grown ups to a special workshop led by Lucy Reeves Khan, the founder of Window Wanderland, artist, and a resident at the Pervasive Media Studio.

The workshop will use light, shadow, and colour through paper-cutting and learning how to use backlighting techniques to help build elements of a community-driven art installation that will be featured at the Bristol Light Festival.

Inspired by Watershed’s Wild and Generous vision, Lucy will bring together your work in an art installation centred around several beautiful translucent flowers which will light up the window of the Watershed Café & Bar.

This piece forms part of a set of co-created art pieces built with refugees and other community groups in BS1.

About Window Wanderland

Window Wanderland is an award-winning social enterprise and community event where residents transform their windows, doors, or front gardens into illuminated, DIY, open-air art galleries, usually in the evening. Their national campaign Trail for Hope is funded by Arts Council England and bringing together communities from all over England (and even the Netherlands) to create hopeful, playful window displays.

About Wild and Generous

Wild and Generous is a holistic vision for Watershed and the Canon’s Road area that centres notions of wildness and generosity and creates more welcoming and inclusive spaces in a key part of the city centre.
