Join us for a celebration as we mark the end of a year of making, experiencing and sharing ideas of Home.
Our programme over the last year has explored the many different ways in which people find, make, imagine, long for and escape home. We have been led by a question that we will bring into this party and beyond, what does home mean to you?
What to expect
Kicking off at 15:00 in the Pervasive Media Studio:
Tuck into a hot vegetarian meal alongside other visitors
Share a cup of Somali tea with artist facilitator Fozia Ismail of Arawelo Eats and learn how to mix your own spice blend to brew at home
Hear from Fozia about how she has co-created a drink with Lovely Drinks Ltd and women affected by the hostile environment
Listen to short talks from artists including Winter Residents Alison Stott and Nick Murray and writers from our Writing Home series
Watch a selection of Video Nation shorts chosen by Studio Resident and original Video Nation Producer Mandy Rose
Tea Party conversation
15:30-17:00 (limited capacity, sign up on the day)
Artist Tom Marshman will host an informal Tea Party conversation asking what queer home-making look like? Expect tea, cake and charity shop kitsch crockery as you chat together about navigating domestic spaces as queer people.
Visit The Everyworld at Undershed
14:00-18:00
Throughout the afternoon you can also book a slot to visit The Everyworld. This multimedia jaunt is a celebration of collaboration between a father, a daughter - Andrew and Eden Kötting - and an ever-expanding family of cooperation.
Evening
From 18:00
We will wrap things up in the Studio and head into the Café & Bar for a drink together
Or you can purchase a ticket at Box Office and go into the Cinema for a screening of Andrew’s film The Memory Blocks which will be followed by a Director Q&A hosted by comedian, Stewart Lee. The film explores notions of memory and recall as interpreted through the precarious lens of neurodiversity.
