We’re pleased to announce that Stand + Stare Collective will join The Pervasive Media Studio in June, to undertake a Micro-residency supported by Arts Council England.

Micro-residencies enable artists to rapidly develop ideas, within the collaborative environment of the Studio. It provides a platform for critical and technical investigation and experimentation, and a forum in which new ideas can get off the ground.

During their residency, Stand + Stare will begin developing Theatre JukeBOX, a new project that reinterprets the original arcade machine and combines it with interactive theatre to create a unique narrative experience. They plan to research how audio, visuals, objects and operational sensors can be used to create an automated theatrical experience that responds to you and your environment, adapting the story accordingly.

Stand + Stare create immersive theatre in which their audiences play an active part. They are committed to writing new stories and collaborating with artists from a broad spectrum of disciplines to create large-scale site-specific shows, small intimate pieces and commercial commissions.

Follow their progress through journal entries, appearing here soon: http://www.pmstudio.co.uk/project/theatre-jukebox-stand-and-stare

Don’t miss their lunchtime talk on Friday 8th July, 1pm at the Studio, where they will discuss their findings and progress.
