UnLtd India works with start-up social entrepreneurs to help them grow as leaders and create high-impact, sustainable organisations ready for scaling and further investment.
They do this through by providing:
- Seed funding, to pay for critical early start-up costs and to support the entrepreneur as they take their organisation to a sustainable level
- Hands-on coaching & training, covering business & financial planning, fundraising, legal structures, governance, marketing and HR management
- High-value connections, linking our entrepreneurs with others like them, mentors, subject-matter experts, and further funders or investors
Linked to UnLtd London, Pooja was also responsible for bringing The Hub to Mumbai. We had a great chat about the projects she is working on (which include a courier company which employs deaf people, an artist who works with visually impaired people to make visual arts as well as charities and NGOs), understanding value and raising funding.
I am very much hoping to stay in touch with Pooja as there are clear links between our approach to support and investment. Hopefully there may be a way in the future to encourage exchanges and further knowledge swapping between Media Sandbox, The Pervasive Media Studio, UnLtd's networks and The Hub Mumbai.
On another note, as a TED fellow, Pooja is off to TEDindia this week in Mysore. I am very jealous. Here is a video interview with her about her work, with some examples of projects they are supporting. You can follow UnLtd on twitter too.
