Kites have been a recurrent figure in my work with Hamilton, Southern & St Amand, where they are used as a metaphor for a GPS device that is sometimes in our control, and at others pulls us around the ground. During Comob workshops a participant said they felt as if their connection to the work was like a tether to a moving kite. For Polyrhythmia I'm extending that metaphor, as the mobile part of the work flys or travels away from the building like a kite, and the sound changes as they become more distant.

Last week I worked with sound artists Matt Wand to record the sound of flying a kite. I'm currently editing these sounds for the mobile part of Polyrhythmia.
