In todays edition of the New Media Age Magazine both Media Sandbox and also Happy Packages were featured in an article by Sean Hargrave on Location Services.

The article discussed how location-based services now look set to pervade the public sector as more and more projects are getting ready to launch, the devices are ready to handle it and the marketing possibilities are becoming more apparent.

In the article Hargrave describes Media Sandbox and some of the projects that came out of it in relation to the development of Location Services.  Pervasive Media Studio Resident Richard Wilson of Mobile Pie said when interviewed: "Since winning the competition we've developed an iPhone App, because the iPhone has great mapping, GPS and it plays back media really well." Mobile Pie and Thought Den were winners of Media Sandbox 2008 and have since been residents of the Pervasive Media Studio working on the joint venture Happy Packages to bring Location based services to the iPhone.

For Media Sandbox 2009, awards will be made to six research projects exploring innovative multi-platform content. Media Sandbox 09 will be launched at an ideas lab on 15 December 2009, 2-6pm at Watershed, Bristol.
