Clare is the CEO of Watershed and a Visiting Professor at University of the West of England.The University of the West of England currently has a number of PhD bursaries available through the Faculty of Creative Arts to commence Autumn 09. The Digital Cultures Research Centre is looking for proposals that support its research themes of Play; User Generated Content; and Pervasive Media. Our current slate of research investigations concern Value in Media Eco-systems; The Language and Aesthetics of Pervasive Media; Ethics and Trust in the Technics of the Attention Economy; Social Gaming Practice and Theory.
Digital Cultures Research Centre Students can be based at the Pervasive Media Studio and we are particularly interested in high quality research proposals that may have applied outcomes.
The Faculty is also recruiting for PhD students in the areas of ‘issues of place and identity in relation to contemporary digital media environments.' and ‘the changing role of the creative practitioner in relation to the design industry’ .
Criteria for doctoral study:
Honours Degree (2:1 or above, MA preferred)
Applications accepted for Full or Part time study
Annual bursary of £20,000 (inc fees), full time for 3 years with MA, 4 years without.
Pro-rata for part time.
