These visualisations were created through collecting data from twitter.

The search = 20 minutes

Potentially I would like to see this as an interactive platform where people can add how they feel in response to place, which in the future could inform new bottom up urban planning processes.

Relative Emotions

This was my first visual after aggregating the data.  I wanted to show the emotions relative to one another.  I feel these graphics represent how casually we use some emotions. Love is a really over used word.  What could be interesting is
to break down the value of love to see what makes people feel love and how they say it, helping us understand its over use.

Timeline Emotions

I decided to use a 20 minute timeline and plotted when the emotions were expressed.  This got me thinking about whether if this data could be realtime creating a dynamic visualisation.  A lot of real time information is generally lost, what if this
information was stored in a particular way so that people can search for specific emotions at a particular time and location to uncover
patterns of behaviour?

Single Timeline Emotions

I started to interact and filter the visual by breaking down the emotions singularly for more information clarity.  From my research I have realised there are lots of flat visualisations, where the viewer is unable to explore.

I wanted to think about my visual to potentially have a depth in such a way that it can enhance your mental map of the information presented.

EmoTagMap

I geotagged the emotions.

EmoTagNoMap

I thought it would be more visually interesting if you could take away the map so the emotions represent places on the map.

World Region Emotag Breakdown

If this data could be live streamed, it would open up opportunities for more detailed location information from world regions, to countries, to cities and possibly neighbourhoods emphasising the importance of scaled information, giving the user freedom to explore a story for themselves, creating their own narratives through their personal journeys.
