As part of the Grundtvig learner programme, Watershed and the Pervasive Media Studio will host two workshops in summer 2011 that are specifically targeted at older learners (50+) from across Europe with little or no experience of digital media.

Both workshops are designed to ensure participants increase skills and confidence gradually and discover how new technologies can add value to their everyday lives. Participants will also be encouraged to share personal memories and experience throughout the creation process to inspire a dialogue across European nations.

The Studio workshop Memories and Mediascapes will take place from Mon 9 - Fri 13 May and invites participants to explore their relationship with water through a series of hands-on activities. Using Calvium's PIRL (Played in Real Life) platform, we will show them how they can create mobile applications that connect digital content to physical locations.

The application deadline for Memories and Mediascapes is Wednesday, 14 March 2011. Please download the information sheet and application form.

Watershed's Digital Storytelling workshop will take place from Mon 6 - Fri 10 June 2011 and focuses on the topic of love. Participants are invited to use their personal archive material (such as photographs) to create a short digital story dealing with their love for a person, a place or a time.

The application deadline for the Digital Storytelling (Love) workshop is Monday, 28 March 2011. Please download the information sheet and application form.
