It’s over a week since Watershed’s 30th Birthday, but the beat goes on at the Pervasive Media Studio. We’ve just about recovered from the celebration and have all been getting our teeth stuck into new or ongoing other projects. Read more to find out exactly what, when, who and how:

Verity, Clare and Matt nipped off to the UWE creative industries degree show to scope out the recent graduates and their work. Splash and Ripple have been script testing for immersive game: Ghosts in the Garden, a whole team of actors have been in and out of Watershed, including Bill Wallis, Natural Theatre Company and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

REACT’s Jo attended a workshop at Arnos Vale cemetery. The workshop focused on developing the Future Cemetery Project, which is part of Heritage Sandbox. It brought writers and technologist together to work creatively on how they can locate stories. The project is moving from strength to strength with ideas brewing about subversion of guided tours, daylight projection of epitaphs and exploring how to offer the idea to other cemeteries.

Victoria has been busy short listing Studio Residency applications. This exciting opportunity is the talk of the studio at the moment, as we look forward to welcoming some new artists and learning about their skills and practice.

nu desine have been whizzing around on tour. They took AlphaSphere to teen-tech in Hampshire, to Glade festival, and to Geek So In, Paris, where they were rubbing shoulders with the likes on Rubedo.  Keep up to date with nu desine’s activities by following them on twitter @nu_desine.

Calvium have been very busy working on their clients’ apps, who currently include the Royal Shakespeare Company, and National Trust’s Soho Stories. This app is designed to bring 60 years of Bohemian Soho vividly to life in a unique audio tour. Calvium also have a brand new website: Calvium.com. The new site is designed to speak better to clients who are looking for a fuller customer experience. To potentially develop a relationship with Calvium, they might for example be interested in building a series of apps or a specifically custom made app. This site will run alongside AppFurnace, which is a product site enabling clients to use the tools to build their own apps.

Red Wasp have just released an android version of Call of Cthulu: The Wasted Land, which can be downloaded from their website.

Tim Kindberg and Rik Lander’s project My Big Break is about to go live and has made it into Watershed Café/bar. To play this interactive game, turn up at Watershed with your web
enabled smart phone and look for the posters. Scan the QR code and all will be revealed.

Tarim has been working with Bureau of Silly Ideas building a Gosh to go towards their mad scientist’s trailer lab that tours nationally. This project Sweet Smell of Success invites audiences in to measure their success.

Tangible FX  have had lots of visits from their 4 new interns who are making some cool new graphics for them. This work will go towards their new app, which is a little bit hush hush at the moment.

Mark Leaver and Vanessa Bellaar Spruijt  are planning their next trip to Portugal (Guimarães) for July. Writer and publisher James Bridle will travel to Portugal to host 'Walking the Sky', a workshop that will see citizens of Guimarães creating their own aerial photographs using gigantic balloons. Charles Leadbeater's essay 'The Hospitable City' has been published online and has already been read by many people. Also in the mix
are Geoffrey Taylor and Sam Kinsleywho will embark on a journey to find the future of Guimarães with smart city eyes. Their findings will be presented as a design fiction, using video and cardboard. Last but not least Rachel Coldicutt and National Theatre Wales will deliver an essay on open culture.
